DTF, which is short for "direct to film", is a heat transfer made for decorating garments and other cloth goods.

The transfers are made by:

  1. Printing CMYK ink directly onto a heat transfer film or carrier
  2. Applying an adhesive to the wet ink
  3. Curing the ink and adhesive in a dryer

The finished transfer can then be stored or transferred to a garment using a heat press.
